Condition: Excellent vintage militaria condition. The rugged grey/olive canvas shell displays a beautifully developed patina, with minimal surface scuffing and no structural holes. The dense sheepskin lining remains plush and highly insulating, while the substantial mouton storm collar is robust and fully intact. Dating from the 1940s, this authentic Swedish military Livpäls is a monumental example of Scandinavian cold-weather equipment. Its formidable construction and striking utilitarian silhouette have made surviving examples highly sought after by military collectors and vintage-fashion enthusiasts alike.

The coat is built around an exceptionally dense, wind-resistant grey/olive cotton-canvas shell, fully backed with thick sheepskin extending through the body and sleeves. Its defining feature is the enormous shearling storm collar, which can be raised and secured around the neck to provide substantial protection from wind and extreme cold.

Oversized loop-and-button fastenings allow the heavy front panels to close securely without relying on delicate hardware. Deep saddlebag utility pockets are each anchored by three large buttons, while adjustable storm cuffs reinforce the coat’s uncompromisingly functional construction. The Swedish Three Crowns military stamp provides evidence of official issue.

The surface patina reflects genuine age and military history without compromising the coat’s structure. Its intact shearling, complete fastening system and preserved collar make it an exceptional survivor of Swedish wartime outerwear.
