Jean Paul Gaultier Maille Spring/Summer 1994 “Les Tatouages” matching micro-mesh set, comprising a fitted long-sleeved top and multi-panel maxi skirt with front splits.
The engineered print incorporates the Tahitian inscription “NAVE NAVE MOE,” a phrase associated with sweet dreams or pleasurable rest. The wording also appears as the title of French Post-Impressionist painter Paul Gauguin’s 1894 work Nave Nave Moe (Sacred Spring: Sweet Dreams), suggesting a possible artistic reference within Gaultier’s design.
