This Jean Paul Gaultier bodysuit captures the designer’s early mastery of underwear as outerwear, body-conscious construction and provocative colour. The body is constructed from red cotton jersey, engineered to follow and define the torso. Gaultier disrupts this streamlined foundation with sculpted bustier cups in a striking colour-blocked arrangement: forest-green jersey forms the lower cups, while mustard-yellow crochet creates a richly textured upper border. Deep teal openwork panels trace the sides, introducing transparency and tactile contrast while further emphasising the body’s natural contours.
