From Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, this extraordinary blazer captures the collision of polished tailoring and distressed post-punk texture. The jacket begins with a tailored silhouette, defined by gathered shoulders and sleek satin peak lapels. Across this controlled foundation, black corded lace is deliberately fragmented, frayed and webbed over the torso and shoulders.
The damaged-looking surface is entirely intentional, creating tension between formal tailoring and apparent decay. A clean single-button closure completes the structure without interrupting the lace treatment. Both severe and fragile, this is a distinctive example of Preen’s dark, romantic, gothic-inflected language.
