From Lanvin’s Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, this exceptional blazer captures the raw luxury and sophisticated tension that defined Alber Elbaz’s celebrated tenure at the house. The blazer is masterfully cut from substantial midnight-black winter wool, with structured shoulders, clean vertical contouring and sharply notched lapels creating an exact, architectural silhouette. Elbaz disrupts that traditional rigour with heavily frayed detailing around the lapels, cuffs and pocket flaps. At the lower hem, the controlled construction gives way to a dramatic cascade of fine, unravelled threads and intricate black fringe, floating below the waist and bringing movement to the otherwise disciplined form.
