This rare Jean Paul Gaultier Maille two-piece set from 1998 perfectly captures the designer's ability to fuse utilitarian references with sensual, body-conscious construction. 

The cropped zip-front bomber is finished with bold black and white striped rib knit at the collar, cuffs and hem, introducing an athletic contrast to the delicate transparency of the mesh. It is paired with a fully adjustable wrap sarong skirt that ties at the waist, allowing the drape, fit and slit height to be altered to suit the wearer.
