Dating from approximately 1998–1999, these Prada Sport boots exemplify Miuccia Prada’s radical late-1990s fusion of performance materials, industrial utility and refined footwear construction.
The mid-calf uppers are cut from matte-black scuba neoprene, designed to stretch around the ankle and calf while retaining a continuous, second-skin silhouette. A raised central seam runs along the shaft and over the foot, providing the otherwise minimal surface with subtle architectural definition.
The delicate flared kitten heel is set against a rugged wraparound rubber outsole with performance-inspired tread. This deliberate collision of evening-shoe proportions and athletic construction captures the tension central to Prada Sport’s early design language.
Tonal inner zippers preserve the streamlined profile, while rear pull tabs reinforce the boots’ functional character. Highly distinctive and increasingly collectible, they are an exceptional example of late-1990s Prada Sport footwear.
